"Hybrid rice" is hailed as China's fifth greatest invention, and it is the focus of global agricultural attention. As a symbol of the long rice culture of the Chinese nation, rice occupies an important position in Chinese history.

The Longping Rice Museum showcases the origin, development, and impact of hybrid rice, as well as the immortal legend between academician Yuan Longping and hybrid rice through rich exhibitions and collections.

In order to fulfill his dream, academician Yuan Longping has devoted himself to it for decades, working with painstaking efforts and perseverance. In order to have more research time, he moved from cold Changsha to the warm Hainan Island like a migratory bird every winter. He spent more than one third of his life working, observing and researching in the fields. 

"My hyper technology is not only belongs to China but also to the whole world. As long as I am alive, I will never stop pursuing the dream of super hybrid rice."

Academician Yuan Longping devoted his whole life to agricultural research and persisted in the research of hybrid rice for more than half a century. Behind his unremitting exploration is the sentiment of minding the world, serving the nation and its people, and the spirit of the Huxiang culture that dares to be a pioneer.

Academician Yuan Longping has been away from us for 2 years, but his spirit of innovation, struggle and courage to explore will always affect us.

被誉为中国第五大发明的“杂交水稻”，是全球瞩目的农业焦点。作为中华民族悠久的稻作文化的象征，水稻在中国的历史中占据着重要的地位。

隆平水稻博物馆通过丰富的展览和馆藏，向游客展示了杂交水稻的产生、发展和影响，以及袁隆平院士与杂交水稻之间的不朽传奇。

为了圆自己的杂交水稻梦，袁隆平院士几十年如一日，废寝忘食，苦心孤诣，攻关不止。为争取更多的研究时间，他像候鸟一样每年冬天从寒冷的长沙转移到温暖的海南岛，他一生中超过三分之一的时间都在农田里劳作、观察和研究。

“我的杂交水稻技术不只属于中国，也属于世界。只要我还活着，就不会停下超级杂交水稻的逐梦之路。”

袁隆平院士一生专注田畴，坚守杂交水稻研究半个多世纪，其不懈探索的背后是胸怀天下、为国为民的情操，是敢为人先的湖湘精神。

虽然袁老已经离开我们两年，但他创新、奋斗、勇于探索的精神，将永远鼓舞着我们。
